Yuja Panorama out of service

As the previously-reported problem has not yet been resolved, and given the potential implications for staff and students (particularly during the upcoming January exam period), Panorama will be temporarily out of service until Yuja have fixed the issue

We are working closely with our partners at Yuja, and hope to be able to provide an update regarding the likely timeframe for reinstating the Panorama service on our return from the closure period.

For now, these are the important points to note:

Effective from end of day on December 16th the Yuja Panorama accessibility plugin will not be available within Moodle.
It is no longer necessary for staff to manually update Moodle resources, as was indicated in our previous advice. When we switch off Panorama, the problems introduced by the bug will no longer be present.
Students will not be able to generate documents in alternative formats themselves from within Moodle. However, Eden Digital staff can supply these to departments on request. (This may take up to 48 hrs.)
Eden Digital can convert documents to alternative accessible formats in advance for any exams, assignments or documents if provided with a list of resources where this is required.

LSE Student Education Panel: applications close Sunday!

There’s still time to apply to join the pilot LSE Student Education Panel: a new opportunity for you to directly contribute to education enhancement at LSE and gain insight into Higher Education more broadly.

50 Student Education Panelists will meet once per term to consider a specific topic, set of questions or a proposal. Drawing on their own experiences and ideas, they work in partnership with LSE and LSESU to co-create education enhancements in some of the following areas:

Assessment
Community and belonging
In-person, online and blended learning
Inclusive Education
Student wellbeing and support
Students’ voices, representation, and partnership.

In recognition of their contributions, and to enable a wide range of students to participate, panelists will receive a termly honorarium.

If you’re curious about education and think you can bring a different perspective to current conversations, please submit an application online at Student Education Panel. Applications are open until 23:59 on Sunday 29 November.
