This course explores in depth the private law of banking as it relates to core banking activities. We cover topics including the nature of the relationship between account-holder and bank, the law and regulation governing networks of parties behind transfers and payments and the legal nature of money. Throughout, we debate the impact of rapidly-developing market innovations and the tensions between divergent policy goals.
