Legal Skills is a new co-curricular programme for our second and third year LLB and BA A&L students, whether you’re thinking about a career in practice or otherwise. It is a non-assessed programme that supplements the LLB curriculum and will run across the Autumn and Winter term. It is split into three key modules: (i) LegalTech, (ii) Legal Ethics, (iii) Problem Awareness and Negotiation (commercial or non-commercial) or Advocacy.

The programme will introduce you to some of the key ideas and skills needed for both your future career and assessment centres and interviews. There will be little to no preparation and there are no pre-requisites. Students will need to take all three modules to receive certification in Legal Skills. While LegalTech and legal ethics are mandatory, students will have the choice between taking the problem awareness and negotiation component (either commercial or non commercial), or the advocacy component.

Students are expected not to miss more than one session per module to qualify for the LSE Legal Skills Certificate.
