Yuja Panorama Accessibility Plugin Issues

Dear All,

Updating about two known issues that we are currently experiencing with the Yuja Panorama digital accessibility Moodle plugin. More information about Panorama is in the Digital Education Wiki Spaces

1. Restore Document Error

Yuja Panorama retains files and associated Alternative Formats for a maximum of 12 months. After this the files are automatically removed from Panorama. The ‘Restore Document’ button within the Panorama ‘Alternative Formats’ menu is not currently functioning and users will see an error message instead. The issue has been reported and we will be working to fix this as soon as possible. In the interim, Moodle editors can trigger reprocessing in Panorama by removing the source file from Moodle and re-uploading.

2. Teacher Editor Role Not Recognised

Yuja Panorama is not currently recognising the ‘Teacher Editor’ role within Moodle. As a result, the Alternative Formats menu is not displaying Accessibility Reports or overall Accessibility Scores for files uploaded to Moodle. This issue has been reported and we will be working to fix this as soon as possible. In the interim, we recommend content creators make use of the inbuilt Accessibility Checkers for Microsoft Products before uploading to Moodle and refer to the Accessibility section of the Digital Education Wiki spaces for practical guides to creating accessible resources

Contact eden.digital@lse.ac.uk with any questions about digital accessibility.

best wishes,

Dear All,

Sending updates to these issues following developments with the Yuja Panorama accessibility platform and LSE roll over to the latest Panorama visualiser.

1. 'Restore Document' Feature Working.

Users that encounter alternative formats that have been removed by Panorama can now click the 'Restore Documents' button to restore these to their Moodle course.

2.Mapping Teacher Editor Role to Moodle Courses

Yuja Panorama still does not currently reliably recognise teachers with editing permissions on Moodle. As a result, the Panorama ‘Alternative Formats’ menu may not display Accessibility Reports or overall Accessibility Scores for resources hosted on Moodle. It is now possible for editors to manually map the editing permissions to Moodle courses by clicking into the Panorama extension from the Moodle side panel menu. A guide to doing this is available on the Yuja Panorama for Moodle - Guide for Editing Teachers (see 'Mapping Teacher Editor Role in Moodle Courses').

Contact Eden.Digital@lse.ac.uk with any questions.

Best,
Laurence
