Moodle: PDF problems in Internet Explorer 8

We've received sporadic reports that some students are experiencing problems opening PDF files from Moodle when using LSE PCs in the open access computer areas. Unfortunately the problems don't seem to happen consistently, so we have not managed to reproduce any of them.

If you have any difficulty opening a PDF, please email clt-support@lse.ac.uk and remember to include the following information:

The URL (address) of the PDF you cannot open
The error message you receive
Whether you chose to save the file, e.g. to your H space, or opened it directly
The version of Internet Explorer you are using (choose "About Internet Explorer" from the "Help" menu)
The version of Adobe Reader you are using (choose "About Adobe Reader" from the "Help" menu
The name of the computer you are using (choose "Computer" from the Windows "Start" menu, and look in the bottom right corner of the window. See the attached image to help you find the computer name)

With your assistance, we can get to the bottom of this problem, and fix it.
